John Berryhill prieš 8 mėnesius I see a lot of crappy comments here but, the Soviet Armor had incredible heroism. These were men with little or no training, and in most cases drive their tanks right out of the factories to the front lines. Yes, they were crude and fast produced......but it worked . I am a Retired US Tanker, all tankers , all over the world share a "kinship" even if we are enemies.

ralph smith prieš 9 mėnesius I saw a series of pictures where the Germans were trying to pry the hatch off of a KV-1a which was finally hit in track and out of ammo after stopping a full Mech. Regement during early Barbarossa. Captions said 37mm AT gun to 75mm ( Short barrel ) PZ. 4 did nothing. The last picture was the crew right after they got them out. Felt sorry for the Scared but Brave guys.

Tyler Poppele prieš 8 mėnesius I found this movie and decided to save it to watch at a later date. Tonight, I grabbed some popcorn and some tea and turned it on, not knowing what to expect. Damn, this is a fun movie. Absolutely great, and the combat looks realistic. While I'm not sure about the tank rounds used during WWII or if a KV-1 was capable of ricocheting multiple rounds like that, I still find myself loving this movie.

MoogleMy prieš 2 dienas (redaguota) I've watched this several times. Very believable Russian movie. Enjoy them with or without English sub titles. Not like Hollywood movies at all, way more professional and show hardships of Russian tankers.i liked Fury with Brad Pitt and Saving Pvt Ryan, also kline Eastwoods iwo Jima and Sands of Iwo Jima. More realistic and show the horrors of war. Riskiest took it on the nose with the Nazis and don't get the credit deserving their struggle and high losses. I'm a USN vet and appreciate factual movies. 1 navy one is Das Boot with subtitles also well done. Submariner had it tough in their tin can boat regardless of their country. My wife and I sat with 3 WW II veterans during The Movie, Saving Private Ryan all 3 were Day Day Canadian soldiers. The sobbing from them indicated to me that they were not our heros as we say now, but just ordinary young men doing their job and duty. Can't imagine what it was like for them, Tom Hanks and the crew gave us more than a glimpse. Movie was well made and not a Hollywood Foobar production.

German Roldán prieš 8 mėnesius I really enjoyed the movie. I can't help to compare it with a western movie where the hero feels anger or fear and has internal conflicts. This hero seems to lack of emotions but it's not a bad performance, it's a classical hero: he's into war and feel confident, he knows what to do. It's a simple story, from A to B but very interesting and it's based on a true story. I recommend it, very enjoyable.

deezynar prieš 1 metus @Stumm Stefan If it was typical to fire and then wait a certain amount of time to let the gun cool before loading again, then yes, a loader would be surprised to be told to load sooner than the typical period of time had passed. However, the number of rounds fired in that scene was not enough to require a delay for cooling. However, I do not believe the loader was letting the gun cool, because the loader would not be the one to make that decision. The tank commander is responsible for the tank. He is aware of the threat the tank is dealing with, and is the one to make the decisions about when the risk of getting killed by the enemy, or being killed by a hot gun, is greater. If the commander was concerned about the gun's temperature, he would order, "cease loading." I think the reason that the "loader" in the movie delayed, is that he was played by a man who is an actor. He is being told what to do by a movie director, and both he, and the director, are following a script written by a screen writer. The writer, the director, and the actor, did not actually talk to a real tanker, or even think about how important it is to keep the canon loaded and firing in that situation.

In many tanks, the gun has to have a round loaded before the gunner can aim it. The sooner a round is in the chamber, the more time the gunner has to get an accurate aim. The loader does not need to take extra time to get a good load. He does the same thing repeatedly, and can do it in the dark. But more to the point, the loader in this movie was shown doing nothing in the heat of battle, and seemed surprised when told to load another round.

Routing the tough professional German armies bought the allies precious time before and during D Day. Think on that before making a statement! What would you do right now if you had to serve under those circumstances. Crawl in a hole with your mobile phone???? And whine!
