Carolina Western prieš 5 mėnesius I've always enjoyed this movie, no matter the number of times I've already saw it. I think with very few exceptions, it gives a pretty accurate picture of how things would actually be, were this to really occur! I also thought the same thing, back when everyone was talking about the "Y2K" thing. That movie with Kevin Costner "The Postman" would be pretty accurate to. Especially when he says, "This is what I hate about meeting strangers" "Do you say hello or blow their head off" "Do they wanna share what they have" "Or take what you've got?" It would be exactly like that and much worse! Once all the food stores were looted, down to the last roadside snack machine. People would separate into roving gangs and take to the roads in search of, and willing to kill for things we take for granted every day!

Darkest Evelynn prieš 10 valandų This is still a great movie. The actors held their own and you were truly invested in them. The older version of kings work is almost as good as the books. The new ones imo barely hold. The new it jaded me though. This is and always be one of my favorites. I showed this to my two older children and can not wait to show this to my expecting baby when she is old enough to understand. I will show her the older of kings work as she grows and read her the books. Good story telling should never be lost. Having the originals is the best.

willfade 79 prieš 1 mėnesį (redaguota) I’m a longtime fan of Stephen King. He inspired me in a big way to become a writer and I did! King is a legend. This was my favorite Stephen King book to read! I read it over the summer back in the early 90’s and am recalling now the old paperback cover getting worn out. I was so excited when the miniseries came out. They did a great job with the series that was released back in 1994. Excellent cast performances all around! How time does fly... I remember having this on 4 VHS’s! Lol I now have the miniseries on BluRay! I revisit it every couple years or so. It’s great to see it here on YouTube! Thank you for sharing

teresa sparks prieš 1 savaitę way back in the 80's my grandmother was part of the "Book of the month" club. she always gave me the books when she was done with them so that's how I got started with the master Stephen King. I also love how his books were always chosen for mini series movies, that way the whole story could be told. they don't make them like this anymore though. watched it in one sitting!!!! thanks for posting

E. jenima prieš 3 mėnesius Ha ha Yeah my step mom when she was in high school read Children of the corn and she grew up in a rural area with corn. she was actully reading it on her break at her work neer a cornfiled outside and then the corn rustled and she freaked and ran into the building and finished the book locked in a broom closet! LOL my own mom read Pet semitary when she was 12 and she grew in the PA national forest in a old community settled by germans . in the woods there were lots of abandoned old family cemitaries and strange unearthly howling from the woods that the kids used to hear and strange sights so yeah both of them had the atmosphear to go with the book,

It was 1989, and I was in college & working retail - anyway, a coworker & I were both reading the book. So we're both having lunch, I get a little cough. She just looks at me with a wicked grin & asks, "Uh oh... do you think you're coming down with a little something?" We both were just ROFL!!!! Wow, I'm guess I am kinda old, huh? Telling these old stories just like an old timer!

People going stupid buying up toilet paper etc. Supermarket shelves empty. At the time the song in my mind was Mad World by Tears For Fears.

As a very bullied teenager I found alot of companionship in books even today im still a avid reader I even bought a house last year big enough to have my own personal library. Im not rich and I didn't buy a mansion or anything my wife and I are just factory workers... anyways... as a teen I read. Alot. I got into the whole goosebumps series and all of that and then when I hit high school I discovered Stephen King one day as I was walking around town there happen to be a little flea market going on and of course I went to check out the books they had in a box. In this box I came across the unabridged version of The Stand. I wanted that book soooo very bad it was by Stephen King and was so BIG but I didn't have the $1 they wanted for the book... I wantonly stared at that book in my hands then I sadly put it down and turned to leave the person running the stand must have seen me because they stopped me and told me I could have the book. For free. You can't even imagine how happy that made me. I read that book cover to cover in a week. I couldn't put it down. And that is when I decided that one day I would have a library of my very own with all the Stephen King books I could find. Next year I turn 40 and I finally have my library and my Stephen King books... and I still own that copy that I got from that flea market all those years ago its gone through over a dozen moves with me... I think it is time to dust it off and go on another trip with Captain Tripps.
