Although I am 100% certain the DVD version was abridged in some way, because there are loads of little scenes I had never seen before, including the entire section with Ivy and the circus, and the extra scenes during the siege - which I'm glad I have seen because it gives way more context to how upset everyone is when Jess and Basil leave! It's so nice to appreciate the full thing, can't wait to watch Season 2 and 3 for the first time as well after this <3

Duskflower prieš 1 mėnesį I actually reread one of the later books and they're a whole lot more gruesome than I ever recalled. The body count is quite high, there's a fair bit of "onscreen" blood, and it seems to be a rule of thumb that every villainous character must die a violent and dramatic death. In Taggerung alone (iirc), some vermin get eaten alive by fish (turning the water red) and other get (nearly) skinned alive, attempted "human" sacrifice, a "good" character is crazed after a head injury after witnessing her family massacred, a toddler is pinned by a dead body, children get kidnapped (and some children have a backstory of being beaten), not to mention various impalings, beheadings and other grisly fates by minor characters...again, all in that one book. That particular book doesn't even have the ongoing tradition of Badger Lord characters entering into a "bloodwrath" state where they'll kill anyway around them, including allies. I was less sensitive to violence as a child, or at least naive enough to not consider the implications of skinnings or massacres. The books frequently juxtapose the "meanwhile, the vermin commit x, y, and z atrocities" with the peace of the abbey at the beginning, which is often a disturbing narrative device. When I was a kid, the only things that I paid attention to was good triumphing over evil, no matter how depraved the villain of the week was, and that hope and beauty endured long after darkness and despair. That stuck with me and I'm grateful it did.

guitarman0365 prieš 2 mėnesius bruh so glad i found this. I loved this show as a kid but never got to finish it back when re runs were rampant and recording was not so easy. Go glad i can finish my inner child's dream of watching the entirety of the seasons to finish the story. Thanks for doing this.

High Inquisitor Sebaste prieš 1 mėnesį As someone who's read quite a few of the Redwall books and seen all 3 seasons of the animated series (my siblings absolutely loved this series), to see this still going strong does my heart proud! I think my favorite part is when Basil makes an absolute mockery of Cluny's army, all while saying some hilarious one liners, lol
