These two are absolutely adorable, and truly precious, an inspiration to all of us. My husband and I are retired now and we spend a great deal of time in the garden too. I have been a plant and garden gal our entire married life (48yrs). We have a tract home in Southern California, but have always longed for the kind of property with space to garden, and space between neighbors. We are content where we are, family is all around us so we would never leave. We find joy in our life each day. For Margo and Larry: We garden our space, and loved all of the work you both have done and it is so beautiful. I find it very serendipidis that you met these neighbors of yours in such a surprising way. MY BIG QUESTION IS during the summer, you must have a LOT OF MOSQUITOES. Ponds, shade, plants, humidity...all those summer things that mosquitoes like. How do you cope with the mosquitoes, so that you can still work outside? I would really appreciate knowing, as they bit me too much this year and drove me crazy in my backyard (and occasionally got in the house and found me there too) LOL THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE with all of us who want to learn.

God given passion, and as life-partners - what a tremendous gift in life. magnificently, uniquely created as inspired by The Creator. God bless them both more. As you can see in their persona, calm, peaceful, serene, loving people. that's what gardening do to the soul, coz it is a form of meditation. as you garden, it is quiet, it is communing with nature, communing with the Creator God. thisakes me dream to have a lot, to build something like this . i love gardening, and I do hope that when my hubby and I retire, this will keep us connected as spouse, sharing hopefully the same passion. I have to mention too, Your narration is beautifully done. it touched me, shed tears of joy. articulately expressed and video beautifully captured. I am a subscriber now. wonder what U.S. state this place is located. do they have the disposal to garden all year round? do they have winter? first time to witness a couple sharing the love for each other and their communal love for gardening. This place is truly magical, heavenly - an oasis to be constantly refreshes one's soul and love for life. So blessed in life. Lol but I have a good feeling about my project and hope it rubs off on a couple of these people close to me I'm 69 and feel pretty good for my age . Marlene Sabio Oliva prieš 3 mėnesius I liked this episode very much. As if Iwas watching myself but in a lesser area. When we are in the garden, we feel that time does not exist at all. I am very thankful to the Lord for giving us the opportunity to live in the city and have a beautiful garden. Actually, I started it as an experimental garden before I would plant on a bigger space. Praise God! Everything turned out as planned. My husband is very supportive and we have an avenue to relax and enjoy the beauty of gardening together. Thanks for this great video!

If you do find someone with the same passion then it is a bonus. Meanwhile I love slowly developing my evolving paradise. Actually I develop my garden and landscape geared towards my 5yo grandson so he can enjoy playing in it as he grows.

Emmie Mendoza prieš 2 mėnesius Love this garden & I admire Margot & Larry, the soulmates, best friends, partners, lovers of this beautiful garden. Simply awed by the watering style of Larry & the knack of Margot in doing garden decors out of scraps of wood, grasses & dried flowers, all from her garden. Also amazed by the tall Christmas tree that grew too tall in their living room & certainly one of the focal points of the house. For a couple their age, certainly they are doing a wonderful job giving praise to Mother Nature.

I'm curious whether you ever discuss the economic foundation that allows time for these gardeners to work all day. I understand they hold plant sales and she sells art as well, but this hardly could explain their entire economic solution for sustaining this sort of lifestyle. Anyone seen other episodes on these topics? I just think that this answer could be the missing element that works towards really motivating people to do this themselves.

Sharon Webb prieš 1 mėnesį This couple speaks my language. I too am totally addicted to plants and gardening. I live in Australia. How I wish I could visit this couple & their garden. I am at the beginning of planting a new garden in the grounds around a a small old house we bought a year ago. I’m doing what they do, one day at a time, no master plan just planting what I love & seeing what will thrive and what struggles. My husband and boys hate gardening and they help me only reluctantly, occasionally so I am mostly in it alone with God ... but it’s my happy place and nothing is more pleasurable to me than hanging out with my best friend God in a garden that He’s helping me create and not just for me but to share... even my boys have said they have to admit it’s looking pretty good so far(even tho every plant is baby sized.) I’m 55 & so it’s going to take a while for my garden to look like this couple’s but one day at a time, one plant at a time... but... one day I may move as I would love a forest like they have! How gorgeous is that! There’s not a part of their garden inside and out that isn’t gorgeous though! Love on display... and remember it’s normal to be addicted to gardening- we get it from Our Heavenly Father ... the greatest love story of all began in a garden - eastward in Eden, then the greatest act of redemptive love (as Love Himself suffered agony for our transgressions and iniquity) happened in the garden of Gethsemane. And the creation of the new Heaven and New Earth which is next, will basically be God and us gardening together to restore Paradise -made possible only because of Yeshua’s agony in Gethsemane & on the cross. This is why we all sigh and are enveloped in peace in gorgeous gardens... because our “spirit man” inside our earth suits, the eternal us, remembers... we are the children of The Master Gardener.

I was inspired to begin again and had a renewed sense of appreciation for the present moment. Special that you stated you were drawn in---as if life itself had invited you. I'm sharing with my family who love to tease me about just how many plants I plan to stick in the yard. Of course - they see something and check with me before buying to see if I might have it. Sharing plants is rewarding - often because if they receive something from another garden - they stop and bring me one. I have an African Violet that my grandmother gave me when I was about 19-20. I'm 65 now and it's still thriving - having been shared many times. Gardening is not only life - it's the good life.

Love those ferns, now I may split mine and put them out in an area I haven't accessed before. Just saying, I tend to make new areas, expanding. Just about done with the third landing with a "no dig" "lasagna" space, so next it's into the wild...lol.

Hubby is a musician and can’t tell a dandelion from a daffodil, but I rope him in for the big grunt work. If I had a garden half as amazing as that I’d be pleased.
